When getting a medical marijuana card, the first step involves evaluation by the doctor. You should start by looking for a qualified doctor who can order medical marijuana. You should also look for a doctor who is registered with the state’s medical marijuana use registry. Evaluation is done to assess whether medical marijuana is appropriate for the treatment of your condition.
The doctor should sign a physician’s treatment when they find out that medical marijuana is appropriate for your condition. You will, therefore, need to visit the doctor’s office for evaluation. Before visiting a physician, it is important that you gather all your medical records. You can as well request your primary doctor to provide their diagnosis documentation. You should ensure that you are above eighteen years when applying for a medical marijuana card.
It is only through the recommendations of two doctors that a minor can use medical marijuana. You should also prove to be a resident of the state by producing an ID or a driver’s license of that state. Note that there are those conditions that qualifies someone for medical marijuana. Some of the conditions that qualify for a medical marijuana card include; cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, chronic pain and multiple sclerosis among others.
When getting a medical marijuana card, the second step involved is doctor’s recommendation. You will be guided by the doctor in determining whether medical marijuana is fit in treating your condition. There are other treatment options that patients who are not fit for medical marijuana can use. If the doctor determines that medical marijuana is fit for you, they will recommend it for you. You can move on to the next step once the doctor enters you in the state’s marijuana use registry.
The final step in obtaining a medical marijuana card is completing the application. Submission of the application is done in the office of the state’s marijuana use. You will need to prove that you are a residence of that state and include a passport-style photo. The application of a medical marijuana card comes with some fee. You will then submit your application through mail or electronically. You are then allowed to buy marijuana by the health department through the issuing of a temporary card. The card expires annually and has to be renewed.
